James was still a teenager in Detroit when he discoverd the Blues. While friends at school were listening to the Beach Boys and the Kingsmen, James was checking out the Blues records at a place on Monroe..."Little Willie James Clark Junior's House of Process (and written underneath) and Record Store." The front of the store was a barber shop and in the records -bins of 45s for 25 cents each - were in the back.
